The Rifles is a British indie rock band from London. The band consists of James Russell (lead vocals, guitar), David Nagel (guitar, vocals), as well as Kevin Jagoe and Louis Jones as supporting members.
In the late 1990s, the Rifles had a brief period of mainstream success with their 1997 single “Wrong About You”. Their first album, “Keep Your Dreams”, was released the same year and peaked at number 33 on the UK Albums Chart.
When they disbanded in 2006, they had already been performing for 12 years and were ready to move on to other projects. They have been working on new material since 2011 and have played a few live performances every year.
To be honest, I’ve never seen them play. I don’t know what they sound like. But if you ever see me walking down the street with a rucksack on my back, it might be because I’ve just seen them play and want to walk home listening to their records.
